The Inn is named in honor of Joseph M. Pritchard, who died of cancer on May 31, 1979, at the age of 35. He served on the Texas Young Lawyers Association Board of Directors from 1973 through 1977, and was Secretary of the organization from 1976 to 1977.
A CELEBRATION OF YOUNG LAWYERS PAST AND PRESENT
Each year in conjunction with the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting, the Texas Young Lawyers Association Joseph Pritchard Inn sponsors a social event in honor of past and present TYLA directors.
JOSEPH M. PRITCHARD INN SCHOLARSHIP
The Joseph M. Pritchard Inn annually awards a $500 scholarship, based on need and merit, to one second-year law student at an ABA accredited law school in Texas. The dean of the law school selects the recipient.
MEMBERSHIP DUES
Membership is open to past and present TYLA officers and directors. The $20 dues fund the annual scholarship and help off-set expenses for the Inn’s annual meeting social during the State Bar Annual Meeting

Zane ThomasBaylor Law School | JD Candidate '23Zane is a first-generation college and law student from the small town of Blooming Grove, Texas. Upon graduating high school, Zane attended Texas A&M University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics. When deciding to attend law school, Zane knew he wanted to pursue a career that would allow him to be an advocate for those around him and a resource for those in need. Growing up in a small town taught Zane the importance of supporting your community. Zane has had the opportunity to grow his advocacy skills at Baylor Law as an advocate in the courtroom and in his community. Zane hopes to promote the importance of giving back to your community.
